Protection of the emblem and name
The red cross emblem and the words ‘Red Cross’ are protected by the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949 and the Federal Law on the Protection of the Emblem and Name of the Red Cross.

Swiss GAAP FER
Each year the Swiss Red Cross publishes detailed annual accounts in accordance with Swiss GAAP FER that are verified and approved by external auditors.

Investment regulations
The following investment regulations apply to the SRC’s financial management: «Derivative instruments are only permitted for hedging purposes and may not have a leverage effect on the total assets. The use of hedge funds and contingent convertible bonds (CoCos) is not permitted. Companies whose core business is nuclear energy, the coal industry, the oil industry, the production of armaments and weapons, the production of tobacco and alcohol, pornography, gambling and food speculation are not to be taken into account.»
