Step by step to a job at the SRC
Vacancies
We advertise vacancies on redcross.ch/jobs. Please also consult our vacancies in other languages. Nothing currently in your field? Sign up for our job alert. You will get an email as soon as a new vacancy is advertised.
Online applications
In the vacancy, click on ‘Apply’. Complete the form and upload your attachments, preferably as PDF files. Each attachment should be no larger than 5 MB.
Confirmation of receipt
As soon as we receive your online application, we will send you a confirmation email.
Screening
The relevant line manager and the HR division will shortlist the applications. The recruitment procedure may take some time and we appreciate your patience. You will get a reply regardless of the outcome.
Interviews
If your application is shortlisted, we will invite you for an interview.
The first interview is generally online with two people: your future line manager and someone from HR. The aim is for you to find out more about the job and our organization. But we also want to find out more about you, of course.
If there’s mutual interest, there will be a second interview, involving other managers and staff.
Contract
If we mutually decide we want to work together, we will offer you a contract. Then before you start, the HR division will send you an information pack about employment with us.
Starting work
Your line manager and your new colleagues will welcome you on your first day of work. Then you will take part in an induction programme, which includes comprehensive information about the SRC and its seven Humanitarian Principles.
